The MVTR-50 conducts Gravimetric Analysis, following the ASTM E96 upright cup method. Firstly, the system measures the increase in moisture vapor mass across the specimen over time, providing the Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) value. Additionally, it calculates permeance and permeability based on the MVTR value obtained. Continuous monitoring and recording of chamber and cell temperature and relative humidity are ensured by the system. To compute the moisture vapor mass gained across the specimen, changes in relative humidity in the top cell are measured. Subsequently, the acquired data points, depicting the moisture vapor mass gained over time, are recorded and plotted. Through the accumulation of adequate data points, the MVTR of the material is precisely determined, offering valuable insights into its moisture management characteristics of textiles.
